Red Padauk grows in tropical climates and can be found in India, Indochina, the South Pacific, West Africa and even as far south as Florida.
This tree has a very interesting feature in that the wood is initially a bright orange shade, but with time, in sunlight, it acquires a deep, dark red mature shade.
It is said that even King Solomon, in the 10th century BC, chose the durable padauka as the pillars of his temple.
On the other hand, the French kings Louis XV and Louis XVI were separated from Solomon by thousands of years. However, these 17th-century rulers were also fond of the red, orange padauk, which they called the narr. Royal woodworkers made royal goblets and goblets. Since the water poured into these vessels turned yellow, the kings believed that the "potion" had medicinal properties.
